It's time for that obligatory first blog post, and for some reason it's always the most difficult. Normally, I love new beginnings. Right now, it's a glaring reminder that I'm scatterbrained.
Meet Hannah… The Obligatory First Blog Post
We probably don't know each other well yet. I'’ll break it down.
1. I'm a professional nerd #dreamjob
Currently focused on business intelligence, most all of my days are an elegant combination of art and math.
Art, surrounding myself with conscious observation of beauty, fills me with joy. So does dorking out with a good-old-fashioned power series (that’s funny-looking math, if you’re not a math person). Speaking of joy… I am engineering a life of sustainable joy, and I want you to experience that. This brings us to our next point.
2. If it's not art and math, I'm probably thinking about sustainability.
Sustainability is multi-faceted. Usually the brain goes to the environment #savethetrees and that is certainly part of it, but it’s bigger than that. What if we shaped sustainability around joy too?

the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level
This is what I want for my life, and yours. A sustainable life. Sustainable joy.
I will still encourage you to #savethetrees, but while you’re at it #saveyourjoy.
I have spent hours automating my life to have time and resources for the things I love now, and in the future. Do you want that too?
The reality is, here’s no “right” answer for how a sustainable life looks. Your sustainable will almost definitely be diffferent from my sustainable. So give it a thought - what’s important to you? Ecological balance? Economical balance? Cultural balance? Physical balance? Investments? Technology? The list goes on and on.
The beautiful thing is, the more practice we get making choices with sustainability in mind, the easier it gets. The easier it gets, the more criteria we can add. So today, I swap a bamboo rag for paper towels. Tomorrow, I buy that bamboo rag from a minority-owned business. Make sense?
Now here’s the fun part.
A snippet of my joy today:
My Full Focus Planner, a cappuccino in my favorite Le Creuset mug, a journaling Bible, and my (very cute) German shepherd puppy.
What brings you joy?
